San Antonio

It's been 15 years since I was in San Antonio.  It was great to go back!  

I had to go for a work meeting and was only there for a couple of days.  I lived there for two years of my life, but nothing at all looked familiar.  I still had a great time!!

I tend to take too many pictures.  We just had so much fun celebrating my Dad's birthday!

He deserves the best because he is the best!

Grandpa can even keep up with the grandkids.  After an adventurous bowling game Grandpa joined me, Niel and the grandkids for a game of Laser Tag.  How many Grandpa's play laser tag..... and are good at it?  Only my dad!!!!  He was pretty exhausted after such a full day of fun!

It sure has been fun coming up with Grandma each weekend!  I remember as a kid doing this all the time.  I loved those memories!  I hope the boys make some good memories too!!!  They are getting really good on their boards!

Gar and I decided to try to real hard hill to end the day!  Garrett's first black diamond.  My first black diamond on a snowboard.  He did fabulous.... sped right down to the bottom and then had to wait for his slow mom!

SNOW!

We got a ton of snow - yeah!!!

All the boys went around the neighborhood and shoveled off walks!  We even got cookies delivered to our house for all their efforts and a super sweet note:

Tell your sweet boys, Conner and Garrett, a big THANK YOU from the Hartles! They helped shovel our driveway. Which was hard for me to do today with a sick baby and entertaining a daughter whose Birthday is today.

It was so dang sweet and kind of them. It makes me feel so good inside to know that there are boys out there so willing to lend a hand when they see something that needs to get done. What an example he was to my daughter Maggie (who was already outside and shoveling) and to my other kids who watched their example.

Yummy treats are coming your way! I know they didn't do this for any reward or anything, but it's something we want to do to show our appreciation. Besides, who can pass up treats, right?!

The Good and Bad

This week had some good and bad to it!!

The refrigerator broke after only owning it for 5 years.  We were out a fridge for 10 days!!

The good part was there was enough snow outside and cold enough weather to keep the food outside!

The other good part.... we got a new fridge and hope this one lasts 20 years to make up for our previous short lived fridge!

Next.... I hit this ginormous rock that was in the middle of the road (same place a deer hit me 2 years ago).  The rock blew the tire out!

Good thing.... Conner and Niel came over and Conner got to change his very first tire.  He will be all ready when he starts driving.  Other good thing.... our super nice friends saw us on the side of the road and offered to help, both woman.  Kayla and Allison Rose are super nice!

Good news.... Zander and I were the only ones to have cavities this year!  Yeah for everyone and yeah for me and Zander for only having 1 cavity.

It was a tough week.  I broke down and had to get some comfort food.  Good thing.... Chocolate ice cream with chocolate chip cookie dough makes everything just a little better!

Luther Day!

It was a late breakfast for me but the kids were out of school so we made the best of it!

Missionaries

We have had several missionaries go out in our family!

Dillion will be serving a mission in sunny California!

Camille will be serving in San Antonio Spanish Speaking and Scott will be serving in Mexico Culiacan!!

Happy 37 for ME!

I had the best birthday ever!

Talk about the perfect day!

Party at Sundance!  My mom and dad and Ang joined me and my family for a day on the mountain.  What a special treat!

Not to mention the snow and weather were perfect!

After a great day on the slopes, everyone came over for some soup and cupcakes!

Can I tell you how impressed I am of the men in my life?    Niel cooked up this big batch of Chicken Noodle Soup!

My Dad cooked up this delightful sausage noodle vegetable soup!

And my awesome cousin - in -law made these incredible breadsticks to share with everyone!  As you can tell, they went quick!

I love my family SO much!  It was great to have them over for a fun night together!

It was a perfect way to celebrate 37!  I feel so loved!!
