I try to find a picture each week that is in relation to something happening in our lives currently. This past week my Grandma Dean had surgery. While none of my little family was able to be with her this past week, she has been spoken about a lot around our house, in our prayers, and in my thoughts constantly. Grandma has been sick with cancer for a while now. We all hope she gets well soon!!!
For our second day in San Diego we hit up a couple fun places. Again... let me emphasize how incredibly warm and sunny it was. Back home in Utah it was snowing, blowing and cold!
There were some awesome animals at the Wild Animal Park.
Proof that Garrett really does have an extremely long tongue. It even comes to a point on the end.... crazy kid!
Ah... the beach!! Probably one of my most favorite places we spent the day while on vacation.
The kids had a blast boogie boarding it up on all the waves.
Might I add the water was too cold for me, but I loved people watching and seeing all my kids have the times of their lives.
Ok... this might be the only time you will ever see me post a picture of myself in a swim suit. Conner took the pictures..... I thought he did a pretty good job of it!
The kids got to visit with Aunt Deana while we were there. It had been a while since the boys have seen her. She met us for dinner and she even put up with all the sand and ocean water we brought with us!
It's been a while since I participated in iheartfaces, but the theme this week fit perfectly with my most recent picture taking adventure. San Diego has got to be one of the best places on earth. The weather was perfect! The beaches were amazing!! I think we could have stayed there all day long!
Check out the other entries for this week's contest!
When ever I am in San Diego, I like to remember one family trip we all took together. By far, 1999 was the hardest year of my life. The entire family decided to take me and my little family on a trip to make some happy memories for that year. Just in case you wondered... this is Ang, Joel, and Brooke. Yeah... I know.... they looks so different. Ang and Brooke might physically beat me up for not asking their permission to post this picture. But I hope they remember what a fun time we had together. The trip made some for some good, lasting memories that year. I miss Joel so much!!! When I think of some of the good times we shared together.... our trip to San Diego was one of many!
Here we are.... long before we were ever Mr and Mrs Oscarson with a Big family. This is back when Niel and I were dating. Conner and Megan were 7, Stockton 4, and Garrett 2. This was the first group picture we took together. Zander was just a baby. He wasn't even there to play because he couldn't even walk yet.
Who would have ever guess how things would have turned out!
I get asked ALL the time, "What do you do at End of Quarter?"
My family and close friends get to feel the stress of the big day. They are grateful it only comes around once every 3 months.
Well.... this is what we do:
Eat A LOT
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are all brought in. DELICIOUS!
We bench press Little Tracy to get rid of any stress me may feel.
And this past quarter some massage therapist came in.... DELIGHTFUL!
I bet you are wondering, "What the ....? That doesn't seem so bad!" ...and you would be correct. Those are some of the many fun moments experienced at End of Quarter.
But Conner's remark this past week was, "Mom, when is End of Quarter going to be over? You are SO behind on laundry!"
For about a week before the last day of the quarter, we are putting in 10 hour days. I start work at 7:00 am and finish at about 6:00 pm every day for at least a week. Then, on end of quarter day I will work all day, barely leaving my desk. We are processing orders, making sure numbers match, trying to close enough business to hit quotas and do everything quickly and efficiently! My day will start around 8:00 and end around 10:00 or so... just depending how things go. This quarter, I left decent time. And once again, we had another successful quarter as a company.
And these are the people who are stuck with me for so many hours and get to deal with all the stresses.
